Listen, why don't all of us stick to discussing how much we hate our lives than perpetuate this absolute bullshit allegations brought up Guy Sorman. Sorman is a known controversy man but this was beyond scandalous for him as well.

Here is a piece (https://www.jeuneafrique.com/1147268/politique/tunisie-michel-foucault-netait-pas-pedophile-mais-il-etait-seduit-par-les-jeunes-ephebes/) from the Afro-French magazine Jeune Afrique where a journalist went to the Tunisian village and discussed these issues with the villagers, writing that "Foucault wasnโ€™t a pedophile, the village notables say. He lived ascetically in the village where he was known to everyone. However he was easily seduced by young ephebes." That should clear up the controversy itself but you have to read this in the context of Guy Sorman's consistent efforts to undo the legacy of Mai '68.

So read this excellent piece as well: https://lundi.am/The-Black-Masses-of-Michel-Foucault-the-Bullshit-of-Guy-Sorman.

Begging you to read rather than indulge in the huge faux shakeup that Sorman was aiming for lol. - AND KEEP READING FOUCAULT!
Had no idea about the controversy but how this makes it better then when you say that he wasn't a paedophile but he would wait for the moment as soon as they turn legal.
I don't hold any brief for Foucault but let me just say that that gets the story other way round. He didn't "wait" for them to turn legal. Homosexual acts were illegal all over the world when he was in Tunisia - even in France, age of consent for men to was 21. BUT he wasn't on the prowl, so to speak.

Lets clarify two things: Sorman claims that the acts happened in a cemetery - which is again denied as preposterous by the Tunisian villagers; and that he did it with kids - which is not true...they were youth of 17-18 year old. You can debate the age of consent aspect as determined nationally (15 in France) but that's the facts of the matter.

And I was re-reading about this, it appears that Sorman has sort of given away the game here: "the Zeit [German daily] journalist interviewed both Sorman....Sorman now admitted his knowledge of the matter was entirely indirect, based in remarks he had overheardโ€”that is, that he was repeating gossip." I think we should learn to let go of rumors no, Mme?
Shameful that wokes are defending Foucault. He even defended child sex in his writings.
That's a concept that's alien to these imbeciles flocking to LI lately. All their posts are on the lines of "why aren't the left-liberal saying anything about X?"
