What must one prefer between NUSRL Ranchi and private colleges like Nirma University, KPMSOL (NMIMS, Mumbai)/ non NLU government institutions like GLC, ILS, BHU, JMI, USLLS(IPU), UILS (PU)?

It will be very helpful if you could rank the institutions mentioned above :)
GLC will definitely present to you a wider range of career opportunities, even if not much would happen via classrooms. So might ILS.
Recruitment prospects at NUSRL are bleak. Of course, many students have landed jobs at Tier 1 and the like but it's all through their own endeavours. No tier 1 or even tier 2 visits the campus. If you are all for Corp job, go for GLC or a good Delhi college.
The mooting culture is good. But that's it. You won't find a vibrant debating or dramatics society. Faculty is mediocre/pathetic. You'll find only a handful of teachers to be really good. Some of the good ones left for better opportunities at better places. Can't blame them.
Administration is apathetic. Infrastructure wise- very very average.
Although the admin has been trying to woo the state govt since ages and the Jharkhand HC too had directed the govt several times to fund the university, the govt is least bothered. Lack of funds, lack of infra. There's no major infra there. Hostel is pretty good because you get single rooms from 2nd year onwards.
I genuinely feel that NUSRL is plagued by some beaurocracy type of disease.
It's a mediocre place.
"Not great, not terrible" career wise. Average-ish.
If you desperately want NLU, you may pick NUSRL. Else, go for GLC. Minimal fees, lots of opportunities for internship.
Ranchi as a city is average-ish. The weather is fantastic. "Nature lovers' paradise".
If you are aiming for judicial services, UPSC, litigation, or any non-corp field, you many choose NUSRL.
It's an okay-ish place.
Yet, choose GLC if you ever get a choice.
The thing with NUSRL is that you don't really get the advantage of NLU tag. Flaunt that "NLU Ranchi" tag before your relatives, neighbors and school friends, but when it comes to internships and all at tier 1/2 firm stuff, you won't get an edge over others merely by the virtue of NLU Ranchi tag.
(I've come across many people- students and people working in firm, who don't even know where Ranchi is.)
In NUSRL, you will have to be extremely strategic with internships right from 2nd sem. You will necessarily have to build up your CV in order to be at an advantage while applying for internships. Most importantly, make contacts. As many as possible. With contacts, the internship problem is solved 80%.
So if you are thinking that NLU Ranchi tag will put things in place for you, you're mistaken.
While it's true that any NLU tag won't be of much use if the student's profile is horrendous, for tier 3 NLUs like Ranchi, the situation is even worse.
Any NLU must be picked over a non-NLU, except Jindal (and that too only outside top 10).
