CAM has upset the cart and since late last night whatsapp groups are ablaze with CAM's surprise move that hopefully finally kickstarts the increments that we've waiting on for a decade!

When will elder brother SAM match (if not beat) CAM?

Please use this as a thread for pay hike related information (not trolling). Somebody please drop the numbers for Trilegal as a starting point.
Any hopes of SAM, AZB, Khaitan, JSA, L&L (and maybe Saraf idk) increasing salaries? If yes, will they look to match CAM and Trilegal salaries?
That's the same as L&L. Check the recent threads about Saraf on LI. A0s attesting to attempts to lure them over at the same pay with the carrot of possible higher increment but you never know whether that comes or not.
Has CAM really increased the salaries?idk when only a bunch of numbers put up at Ao, A1...etc levels - Where is the damn break up between fixed and variable.....the variable that is performance linked and which hardly anyone gets in full........fyi,the "hike" has not been announced internally in office although it's been announced to a lot of news outlets
Very good point. Unlike Trilegal..who actually increased the fixed salary component vis a vis the variable, am sure CAM will just do the opposite.

Also, please do not miss the β€œUPTO” word in the salary table published on BNB.

CAM is very smart, they will give one lawyer at each level that big number and rest all will continue getting same old shit.

Once the lawyers actually get the letters, we should have this discussion. CAM is very good in this kind of publicity stunt (remember how it announced WHF last year and then dropped it this year (without ofcourse informing the press about it)).
CAM is so busy with it's PR shenanigans that when it will open offices physically, all the retainers will be gone.This latest act of "lets not discuss the hike" has angered the associates.And obviously,they are retainers not beggars.How can CSS refuse to officially "discuss" hike while he has all the time to go tom toming it in Bar and Bench.
Now that Trilegal and CAM have hiked their pay bands across retainer levels, is SAM going to follow suit?

They were supposed to declare increments in May, but HR have been dragging their feet and refusing to provide transparent responses.

Seriously considering moving to greener pastures on account of this. Fellow SAMmies, feel free to chime in. Maybe then, they'll open their eyes.
They won’t pay. Also the culture is detoriating these days. They promote WFH but then make people work all weeek long. WFH has no boundaries. Corporate partners and litigation alike want weekend calls and people to be available till late night without any warning. Every meeting every deal is important. Everything they want on time friends, except their own increments. Attend their mental health seminar and get a 5000 rs increase in the name of increment. Well played SCAMIE.
SAM retainer with 200% bonus is probably higher than CAM (non-transparent) upper limits after considering variable ay.

Most teams in SAM are busy so 200% is not unacheivable.

They've definitely made big numbers announcement to show up as the "big platform." But how much is the actual hike aka what's the split in the bonus & fixed component. Because we all know how many people will get 100% bonus ;)

It's just a knee jerk reaction to Trilegal ramping up the numbers for real (ask anyone about the the split b/w fixed and bonus for trilegal, and in any case everyone gets bonus in trilegal)
CAM on the other hand is looking insecure and desparate with their press releases and headline numbers. Reeks of a lack of class and just a sweaty Cyril frantically trying to save his shop. His statement about Trilegal being 'a smaller platform' will be his nemesis in the months to come.

The hike is just an eyewash with a large component being 'performance linked' (we all know what that means).
Elder brother also played same last year. Announced hike even during covid but paid v less in reality.

Work was even more than normal time. Still is. No time to commute, none to take eating breaks and no time for gym breaks haha. Calls calls all day long. Increments, none though. Way to go, anarchands.

Only two steps behind of azb - who still continue to be the top cream layer in terms of exploitation. No whisper of bonus, let alone increments. All new college graduates should reexamine their options in light of wage wars and esp for firms like azb

You really think a T1 firm will be left in the dust if they don't increase their retainers for associates? Seriously?
Of course they will! What sort of question is this. How will any firm expect to retain talent if their nearest competitor pays 5-6 lakhs more per year even at a relatively junior level
The credit for starting this whole wage war should go to NDA. The last year hike to 17.4 lpa for A0s seems to have got the other firms to play their cards. All in all good signs for corporate lawyers.
Question is will these wage wars trickle down to Tier 3 firms and benefit us benighted Tier 3 Wakils ?

Nothing happened in yesterday's Townhall. Cyril categorically denied discussing this.
Tier I firms within 15% of the CAM/TL updated tiers won't increase their retainers as they will count on the intertia of remaining at a firm (known devil) than the risk of a new firm (unknown devil).
CAM has not kickstarted anything....it was NDA last year and this year Trilegal move of hikes thats set the ball rolling for increments.Ya CAM as usual will blow it's trumpet of being a leader and..blah....blah...and blah..blah...blah..................
Hikes are great but how much will they get in hand? 80 percent of the 30 percent hike of which possibly 20 percent was in the bonus segment.

Anyway the present SA, PA and Partner bands after revision are lower than most other Tier 1 firms.

Most importantly, is this across bands? Cos CAM has at least a 5-10 lakh variation across bands.

Good PR let's see how the money sings on 31 March 2022.
