Hi, I am a 1st year law student. I have seen every internship requires drafting knowledge. From where can I learn drafting different kind of documents? (other than internships and expensive LS courses)
As a first year law student,y suggestion is to read well, and a lot of good legal books. In this way the language that is required for drafting will become a part of your memory, which you can summon while drafting.
Drafting is an art, you will learn, unlearn, relearn and hone it for your entire life. But first learn the basic strokes.
More important is to draft coherently and logically, with a structure. This you can work on now itself.
For now, I'd recommend just read a lot. It can be editorials, non fiction or even Jane Austen. You'll pick up things like structuring a sentence or a paragraph through this.
If you want to read legal things, please read English law judgements.
