Hi,
Is this the largest batch of incoming A0s (2021) at Big Law? SAM, Trilegal, KCo and possibly CAM seem to have hired their largest batches, with around 60, 80, 55 hires.
I thought these firms hired around 40-50 a year.
Given how Covid apparently reduced bonuses at some firms, does anyone know why hiring has increased at these places for freshers? Is it because of higher attrition? I thought covid would have led to lower attrition.
Big laws are drowning from associate attritions. The high number of hires is because they know that 50% of you would turn into brain dead zombies are working for a year with WFH during the pandemic. So, just accounting for collateral damage and ancillary spillover costs.
Finally associates "re-evaluating" and walking off from the big law firms that treat them as disposable and replaceable is a good move. The pandemic has got everyone rethinking Death and Life.Life- which the big law firms just don't seem to care about judging the way they are Al rushing to reopen physical offices.Associate attrition have always been high at the Tier1s,but apparently market is abuzz with rumours that associates although fed up with the 24 hours WFH model don't want to return to physical office and are just leaving the firms and that's why suddenly big law is hiring even larger number of associates.
