Is it possible to get TCs and international internships at MC firms from JGLS? What would one be required to do in law school to qualify for the same? Are there people that have gotten TCs in JGLS?
Have good promoter / C suite / government connections. If you are in JGLS, you probably have. Milk those connections.
I know for a fact that a lot of Jindal kids get into White & Case because of some MoU. I am not a jindal student. I don’t know about other international firms.
It is. Folks from JGLS have already worked (yes worked, not talking about internships) already at HSF, and White & Case. Folks have also worked at DLA Piper, and Al Tamimi too if the focus is on working in international firms.
But the point is you should really research about joining foreign firms, its not really as great as you might think, especially with the current regulations UK is too long a nightmare, US can kick you out anytime, all it takes is one republican govt. Canada and Australia are ok but then in terms of PPP they dont seem to be worth being a third-class citizen in firang land. Rest upto you but you should really research this one.
Jindal has/had a collaboration with White & Case. Students went till 2019. Multiple other intl firms in Australia and China but they're not MC level and are usually very average.

A couple of students (2016 grad and one more) are currently working at HSF. One more was working but left soon to join a tier 1 firm here in india. You can hit them up on LinkedIn. One more from the 2021 graduating batch got a vac scheme but that got cancelled due to covid. A few people made it to the final interview stage from the 2022 batch as well.

Very much possible. Just got to make use of the facilities and work hard at the end of it.

What's with the excessive craze of MC firms in Indian law schools? Their pay is way too average and in fact, lesser than their Indian counterparts (comparing in terms of living standard). A junior Partner at an MC firm makes at most 250k pounds a year which would mean 150k post-tax. Comparing to the Indian living standard that would mean 40 Lakhs in Delhi. Not to mention that you become a partner in an MC firm quite later compared to Indian law firms. Also, for the first 4 years, you will be earning nothing compared to associates in Indian law firms.

Why this much obsession with MC firms? Is it just because Indian students want to migrate to London?
On an average, workload notwithstanding, foreign firms do not make it a habit of abusing their associates or turning their lives into living hell. That's something Indian firms specialise in. That might have something to do with it.
That is not true. Grass is always greener on the other side. But, even foreign firms fo ensure that their associates get nothing else to do except working day in and out.
I specifically excluded workload. There are other things that make a job unbearable. Inhumane treatment, lack of mentorship and training, abuse, sadism and so on. Indian law firms happen to tick all the check boxes. I speak as someone who has worked both here and abroad. The difference is palpable in terms of working environment.
If only your parents had realised that before you were born. You could have now been a citizen of elsewhere.
