6. Inflation coupled with lowered interest rates have decreased the value of money in general.

10. The pandemic has made the ultra-rich many times richer - both in India and across the world. Pass down at least a tiny portion of it to the lesser mortal selling away their lives for you?

Increase Salary? KCO reduced retainers of SA2 from 2.30 to 2.10 in the last financial year. Such a joke.

Wow. seriously? Is it only designations at KCO - what about money...
KCO's joke of a compensation scheme is really never discussed enough around these parts. It's not just at the SA2 level also. While I left as an SA, I've heard from reliable sources that pay was cut in many designations across the board, which means SAs now are earning the same as A4s from 8-9 years back if inflation is taken into account.
Almost every law firm worth its salt (in US and UK) provided an extra Covid bonus/ allowance during the last year. Indian firms did nothing of the sort (except Trilegal), while lawyers were made to work even more. It's a fact that the second wave as hit India badly and its probably the worst sufferers right now with no end in sight (with vaccine shortage). Still Indian firms have been behaving like nothing has happened and haven't gone beyond lip service. While other countries are ostensibly nearer to recovery. Yet several US law firms have revised pay across levels this very week. Again, nothing from Indian firms. There are still arrears from last year and no increments yet.

This is precisely why foreign law firms are not being let in.
bhai/ behen, need some help. a recruiter just approached me with a prospective associate level position in hsa. can you confirm if hsa pays irregularly/quarterly? how much can someone with 4 year pqe expect to make there? thanks.
You will not make anything at HSA. They do not pay. During such times what one needs is security. Imagine not being paid for months but expected to work like donkeys. I would recommend any other place. They may offer you anything. But no use if the number doesn't hit your account for months. While they conveniently earn interest on your money
CAM was the first to cut salaries for almost 6 months & when that stopped the bonus was deferred.There was this big lecture on concall at time of sal cut that promoters will step up and support,business uncertainty is high,etc etc.But when news came that CSS purchased a mansion of a flat in worli,many started speaking up.Maybe that's why the salary cut stopped around Diwali.A lot of people were waiting only for the bonus which came in March.People were upset and then farewell emails became common.Indian law firms,small and even big all took advantage of the pandemic against their employees even when business and work increased.
when does CAM usually give out bonus if the one given in March was delayed?
It wasn't the March bonus that got deferred in 2020,it was the October/Diwali one.The March 2020 bonus surprisingly came few days earlier.But that small joy was no good because salary cuts got announced after that.Thankfully the March 2020 bonus had got paid before salary cuts already otherwise it would have been held back like the sal cuts.
