Jindal Law's Academic Ranks confuse me.

Generally speaking, you have the usual US as well as the Indian UGC ranks of Asst. Prof, Associate Prof, Full Prof and above (Emeritus), which are most common here. The UK has the Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader (although increasingly rare) and the Professor. What's up with JGLS combining both and having the Lecturer system as well as the Professor system? Isn't the Lecturer in the UK gradation equivalent to Assistant Professor (US & UGC); & the Senior Lecturer equivalent to Associate Professor? So in what way does JGLS use both? Is it just to sound cool (as a US-UK amalgam) or is there a good rational?
Ranks at JGLS (higher to lower) is as follows:
1. Professor
2. Associate Professor
3. Assistant Professor
4. Lecturer
5. Assistant Lecturer
JGLS largely follows the "Indian UGC ranks of Asst. Prof, Associate Prof, Full Prof and above (Emeritus)" with the difference that there are two positions in the ranks before Assistant Professor- Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer.
JGLS doesn't follow the lecturer system; it also doesn't have Senior Lecturer and Reader as positions.
The above order does not include Adjunct Professor, Research Fellows, Academic Tutors and TRIPs as they aren't a part of this system.
