We all know the political leaning of individual advocates, e.g. Harish Salve is pro-Modi, Sanjay Hegde is pro-Congress etc. But do law firms have political leanings and have close ties with certain parties?
Cyril is pro Adani
Adani is pro Modi
Therefore Cyril is pro Modi
Hence proved
All firms will definitely support the Modi government as it is the most business friendly and pro private sector government since 1947. Look at the deal volumes from 2009-2014. The bread and butter of corporate lawyers depend on liberal economic policies like encouraging more foreign investment. Most opposition parties are deeply critical of privatization, allowing more FDI etc If the opposition parties come to power, it will definitely result in loss of business for biglaw in India as all big law firms in India are so dependent on white shoe foreign investors (likes of KKR etc) to foot their bills.
Is that why the economy has been in shambles ever since this government has been in power?
Yes.

#3 did not say that the policies were pro-poor, or pro-economic sense for a country with large poverty related issues. He said the government was pro-investment and that is where big-law's interest stands.
Haven't attracted a lot of stable foreign investment either over the last few years for all that hullabaloo TBH.
Again, pro investment doesn't necessarily mean pro-'the best of competitive practices'.

Sarkar hai pro-investment by local lalas - Adani and Ambani (just like Congress was forever). The local lalas then provide kickbacks. Simple game hai bhai.
You do remember a teeny-tiny event called liberalisation that had taken place in the 1990s, right? This government wasn't in power then. Maybe you had been too busy [...] back then to remember how the economy changed after that and the law firms prospered.
1991 was caused as a result of dire economic circumstances when the forex reserves fell to under a billion USD. Though, I must say that the Sangh Parivar refers Bharatiya vyaar over videshi.
Most sane economic decisions take place in response to external events or stimuli. Apart from the ones that take place because of the stimuli offered by crony-capitalism of course.
I don't know about political leanings of law firms, the political leanings of the readers is quite clear from the comments.
Any self-respecting Jiggles kid accused of being a communist will go into a depression spiral. JGLS is the peak of capitalism and the kids there are well aware of the conservative, class-line preserving tactics of their parents that got them in there and keeps them fed and sheltered. There's not a shred of liberalism anywhere in there.
Very simple. Every single law firm will firmly be on the side of the ruling party. Whatever they may approve or disprove of in their private lives as partners, the collective firm stance will be to stay in the good books of whoever is in power. This is not unique to law firms, it's a necessity to survive in the fickle economic world.
What sort of ungrateful corporate lawyers are present on this portal. The business of corporate law firms has risen manifold since the BJP was voted to power and even the litigation lawyers have done well as a result of IBC. There cannot be a more pro market government in India. So many socialistic economic policies have been abandoned. This sort of hatred against the present political dispensation is quite shocking.
There's no relation between the real world and your version. This government if anything, has embraced a lot of protectionist measures and unexplainable taxation etc. that are definitely not friendly for the market economy. Even the COVID vaccines aren't being allowed to be subjected to free market trade besides whatever the government wants to procure.
Same Nirmalaji who is not sure whether to increase interest rate and has to tweet to withdraw departmental circulars? The 'appreciation' has been there multiple times for previous government decisions too, and being unaware of that is actually indicative of your lack of education, not mine. This government lost most of the investment arbitrations that it has taken a part in, and isn't obeying the orders passed either. It's like a headless chicken. Neither capitalist, nor communist, nor socialist, nor rational. And just to debunk your assumption, I'm not a Congress supporter either.
The core ideology of BJP is Hindutva. This has been reiterated by all of the top political leadership of the RSS and BJP on numerous occasions in the past. Hindutva is for something and not against anyone. Hindutva is the soul of the party. The Govt strongly believes in taking India back to its glorious past. It is a very ideological government.
But, we want the nation to move forward. Aap piche kyun leke jaana chahte hain?

Present livable bana do bas, future aur past mat dikha - kisi aur ko chu_iya banao (just because you guys like rhyming two liners).
I was very grateful for the economic masterstroke that abolished corruption just yesterday when I was cleaning out my cupboard and found an old Rs 500 note.
Indeed. The Maoists, terrorists, black money hoarders, and trackers of 2000 rupee note chips all approve.
Parinam Legal's Hitesh Jain is a known BJP office holder. Gets a lot of work due to his BJP network.
Not from law firm person but MCIA's head Madhukeshwar Desai is also a BJP office holder and was key in getting then BJP Govt. in Maharashtra to back the MCIA.
In Delhi chambers are clearly aligned to one or other political party. In Bombay, firms are not openly politically aligned except Parinam.
