Just here to check, if any one else in any other firm is also being forced to attend office daily when the covid cases are surging at peak. There are few people in AZB who have been asking their resources to be in office daily. No value of life of others.

Very poor state of affairs. Jaago grahak jaago.
There needs to be an investigation by someone into the investigation of working conditions in law firms. These firms have the most pathetic working conditions in the country. The top management and most big shot partners are such rabid ruthless capitalists who want to extract every bit of utility that they can. Such a sad state of affairs. Maybe if they paid less, they would not be this cruel.
For fuck's same, don't use the word "resources" to denote human beings.
That's what the so called 'human beings' are referred. Resources to work.
Singh & Associates in Gurgaon - don't know about other locations. We have been going to office regularly since last year even when cases were peaking and now also.
It appears that nothing short of official lockdown will prevent law firms from acting this way. Plus, the retainer arrangement protects the firm from any liability or responsibility.
Hopefully the Maharashtra govt will take a decision on this soon. (Tentative by Wednesday) Meanwhile, Delhi govt has ruled out lockdown even though numbers are going through the roof.
This is an absolute lie. AZB Mumbai did intend to start office on April 1 but those plans have been naturally shelved right now because of the surging cases and lockdown in Mumbai. Please do not spread falsehoods. This is just absurd and highly immature.
Is there any chance that the author is referring to Noida office? If that's the case, a clarification would be helpful in rem.
Then the original poster should clarify this to ensure that they do not spread false rumours. I can only vouch for AZB Mumbai.
There were a bunch of covid cases in the Noida office about a month ago - think it was reported on LI as well!
From azb mumbai and not being forced to attend office. Not to take away from what's happening in other teams - but in that case, it's partner specific and not firm specific.
Even if its partner specific, feel bad for the juniors who dont really have a say in whether they want to come to office or not. Corp law is literally one of those professions where WFH can be institutionalized ! Appalling !
But they do have a say! No one is being forced in AZB Mumbai to come to office - there are people who are (foolishly) still going into office voluntarily, despite a clear instruction that no one is required to even be back in Bombay, let alone report to office! Anyone who says otherwise is lying. Not sure what people gain by lying about the firm they have chosen to work (and continue to choose to work).
In an unrelated field of real estate, we have also been going to work every day with or without lockdown. No, we don't fall under essential category but thankfully transactions have closed because we were more active than our competitors on ground. The crux of this situation is, office or no office, you have to keep the business going because it ultimately will have a domino effect on the organization itself.
We must name and shame those forcing people to come to office at the cost of their lives. Please forward their emails to Republic TV.
