Does anyone have any idea about pay packages in Academia? I’ve heard JGLS pays a lot starting from 15-18 lpa for junior associate professors which go on to be 22-24 in a short span of time. But it’s really tough to get into JGLS. How much do other private law schools like symbiosis (pune, Hyderabad and Noida),Amity, UPES, Bennett etc pay? Are these comparable to the pay packages at JGLS? Any help would be appreciated
No other private law university apart from JGLS pays more than 7th CPC salary. Most pay much less. Under 7th CPC, a fresher gets around 9.5 lpa including PF and allowances. JGLS usually starts freshers with no industry experience at around 12 lpa. If you have industry experience, it can go up to 15 lpa plus research grant and quarters and medical insurance, so almost 18 lpa C2U. This is for their entry level JRA and SRA respectively. Assistant Professors can get more depending on negotiation. It varies.
Think there's another similar thread that discusses law professors' salaries in India. Can't find it but definitely here.
