Two moots last weekend: The Tier 4 Surana Corporate Law Moot and the Tier 5 ULC Bangalore Moot, seeing an all-Gujarati final and newbie winners respectively.

Slim pickings for Indian teams this mooting weekend, as none managed to beat their foreign rivals in Mumbai and Gandhinagar. But Symbiosis won its first MPL 4 moot in Kerala, and NLU Jodhpur will face Vanderbilt Law School from the US this afternoon in the quarter finals of the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition.

International law firm Herbert Smith is sponsoring the Mooting Premier League (MPL) and will contribute a prize pool of Rs 60,000 for the top three winning colleges.

The fourth season of the Mooting Premier League (MPL), sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills, is hitting a busy schedule this first week of February, covering a World Class moot (Tier 2), a Best of the Rest moot in Tier 5 and two National Challengers (Tier 4).

Exclusive: The Bar Council of India (BCI) Trust, which conducts the BCI inter-university moot court competition, has decided to indefinitely delay this year’s competition.

NLSIU Bangalore defeated GLC Mumbai to win the 2013 edition of the Jessup South India Rounds last weekend, also going on to win the best memorial award with Raag Yadava bagging the best overall speaker citation.

NLSIU Bangalore won Jessup South beating GLC Mumbai in the finals today at Nuals Kochi, also bagging the best memo award.

Nalsar Hyderabad and SVKM Mumbai had lost out in the semi-finals.

An NLU Jodhpur team comprising of speakers Pranjal Mehta, Ashwin Mishra and researcher Naseeruddin defeated a team from Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK at the 2013 edition of the KK Luthra Memorial Criminal Law Moot last weekend.

NLU Delhi won against RMLNLU Lucknow at the Jessup North India Rounds, giving Delhi its third win this season of the Mooting Premier League sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills, and pushing RMLNLU from fifth to fourth place in the rankings.

RMLNLU Lucknow charged ahead to victory on 2 December as it defeated NLU Delhi in the finals of the North India Rounds of the 17th Stetson International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.

NLU Jodhpur won its first moot in the fourth season of the Mooting Premier League (MPL), sponsored by Herbert Smith Freehills, beating AKK New Law Academy Pune in the finals of the National Rounds of the Commonwealth Moot Court Competition 2012, which was last held two years ago.

NLSIU Bangalore and NLU Delhi were the big winners, hauling in 40 and 30 Mooting Premier League (MPL) 4 points respectively over the last weekend of two big tier 3 qualifying moots: the Stetson South India and the Oxford Media Moot qualifiers to major international moots.

ILS Pune fetched its first gold this season at the NLIU Juris Corp National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition and leapt up the Mooting Premier League (MPL) 4 ladder from 17th to seventh place. RGNUL Patiala was runner-up with a strong shoulder-to-shoulder performance that secured its second MPL silver.
