Luthra partner Piyush Mishra leaves, may join Cyril

Luthra & Luthra banking partner Piyush Mishra has resigned and would join Mumbai-based Cyril Shroff’s new Delhi Amarchand Mangaldas office, reported Bar & Bench.

The 2002 NLSIU Bangalore graduate Mishra was promoted to Luthra’s partnership in 2010, after re-joining Luthra in 2009 from Allen & Overy in London.

Luthra managing partner Rajiv Luthra and Cyril Shroff did not respond to messages seeking comment.

Wouldn't say *every* time, but credit where it's due, they've indeed been getting some Shroff v Shroff scoops recently. But you can't get them all and there's a lot of other work to be done apart from just this (admittedly fascinating) story.

And overall, I think we're still out way ahead in terms of scoops and comprehensiveness:

Long overdue. Piyush is one of the most knowledgeable banking lawyers around and should have been at a firm with a more vibrant banking practice.
