Linklaters promotes ex-AZB-NLSIU Sushil Jacob to India group counsel

Linklaters has promoted Linklaters London managing associates Sushil Jacob to counsel today.

Jacob specialises in banking, finance and corporate, having recently advised, according to a Linklaters press release:

Barclays Bank on the sale of the entirety of its banking business in Pakistan to Habib Bank Limited, BP on its $7.2bn acquisition of a 30% interest in 21 oil and gas fields in India from Reliance Industries Limited, Unilever plc on its $5.4bn voluntary takeover offer for Hindustan Unilever Limited and SWIFT SCRL on its joint venture with six domestic banks in India to provide financial messaging services in India

Jacob joined Linklaters in 2007 after an masters degree from LSE and four years at AZB & Partners, where he began his career in 2002 after graduating from NLSIU Bangalore.

He has spent three years in Linklaters’ Hong Kong office.

Linklaters India head Narayan Iyer said in the firm’s press release: “Sushil is an extremely talented lawyer with wide ranging experience advising on joint ventures, acquisitions, disposals and international capital markets. He is a key member of our India-facing offering and has been involved in a number of path-breaking transactions.”
