At least 700 candidates who sat for 2012 bar exam still await practice certificate

AIBE 4: Still not quite done
AIBE 4: Still not quite done
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has said that the certificates of practice (COP) for 784 candidates who sat the fourth All India Bar Exam (AIBE) in December 2012, have been withheld because of “incomplete documentation”.

According to a notification on the official website today, candidates whose name is on a list of 784 [download list (PDF)], should send scanned copies of their “Enrollment Certificate, SBI bank challan and application form on with the subject list as ‘AIBE-IV COP ‘Enrollment number’’”.

“Candidates whose name does not appear in the above list but have still not received their COP are requested to get a letter from their respective state bar council confirming/acknowledging that the COP was not handed over to them by the respective state bar council,” stated the announcement.

Around 32,000 graduates took the fourth AIBE on 9 December 2012, where results were announced in January 2013 over several weeks. However, a revision was made in June 2013 that some candidates who were previously notified that they had passed, had in fact failed the exam.

The seventh AIBE has been announced to take place “tentatively” on 29 June 2014.
