The BCI replied to Delhi advocate Kush Kalra’s right to information (RTI) request in a letter dated last Friday, 1 March, stating:

“The data regarding the AIBE-IV examination is not available with the Bar Council of India. The final result is yet to be declared by the Bar Council of India.”

The BCI also confirmed the pass percentages of examinees in the first, second and third AIBE as 71.4, 69, and 62.8 respectively, as had been previously published by the BCI.

The BCI posted a notification on its website yesterday, that the contractor assisting it on the AIBE 4, ITES Horizon, would consider examinees’ complaints and requests about the results received until 15 March within two weeks.

A fee of Rs 100 would be charged to recheck or view answer sheets, of which Rs 75 would go to the BCI, and Rs 25 to ITES Horizon, according to the notification:

The committee has considered the request received from various examinees of All India Bar Exam-VI. it resolves to receive any request of complaint from the examinee of All India Bar Exam-IV till 15^th Mach, 2013, the agency (M/s ITES Horizon Pvt. Ltd.) is directed to consider all such requests or complaints with in a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the request or complaint.

It is also resolved that in case any examinee seeks re-checking of his/her answer sheet, they will have to deposit a sum of Rs. 100/- for the purpose as service charge and the agency will re-check and furnish the details of the concerned candidate. the examinee may also be shown his answer-sheet by depositing the said amount, but the copy of answer-sheet can not be supplied to anybody.

The said sum of Rs. 100/- shall be paid through Demand Draft in favour of Bar Council of India payable at New Delhi. Out of the money, Rs. 25/- will go to M/s ITES Horizon Pvt. Ltd. and Rs. 75/- shall be with the Council.

After the first set of AIBE 4 results were declared on 25 January, many examinees had complained that their results were shown to be “withheld” on the AIBE’s website. Some others complained of receiving other candidates’ results instead of their own, while the website threw up database errors for others.

On 30 January a BCI source told Legally India that ITES Horizon had promised uploading the complete results within two or three days from then.

The BCI was not reachable for further comment.
