Delhi-based IP boutique LexOrbis has promoted Deepak Sriniwas, Rajeev Kumar, Amaya Singh and Pooja Dodd to salaried partnership with effect from 1 May.

Three of the new partners – Sriniwas, Kumar and Dodd – are registered patent agents, according to a press release from the firm, and all four are lawyers.

Sriniwas heads the patent prosecution group at the firm, holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Master’s in Technology from the IIT Delhi, having joined the firm in 2012 from IP firm K&S Partners.

Kumar has a master’s degree in in pharmaceuticals and is a law graduate, specialising in patent filings and prosecution, leading the science patents prosecution group at the firm.

Amaya Singh specialises in national and international filing and prosecution of trademarks and domain names.

Dodd, who was running her own law firm IP Gurus before joining LexOrbis, heads the firm’s trademark group and advises on anti-counterfeiting strategies, litigation support and contracts work for IP, IT, media and entertainment companies. She holds an LLM from Franklin Pierce Law Center in the US.

LexOrbis partner Manisha Singh commented in a statement: “These promotions are well deserved and I am personally very happy to see two females amongst the four commendable professionals being promoted to partnership.

The firm was founded in 1997 and now has a total of eight partners, including Manoj Pillai, Ramesh Babu, Manisha Singh and Abhai Pandey.

This is evolution. Lex Orbis promoting four to SALARIED partnership in the same year. Other bigger and smaller firms need to rethink their strategy. Congrats to all four.
