Indus, JSA sell Rs 100 cr local Calvin Klein stake between licensees

Indus Law advised textile and apparel retailer Arvind Brands, which bought 49 per cent of the Indian licensee of global fashion giant Calvin Klein (CK) for Rs 100 crore. J Sagar Associates (JSA) advised the previous licensee Premium Garments and Wholesale Trading.

Indus Bangalore partner Suneeth Katarki, senior associate Winnie Shekhar and associate Priyanka Chandrakshekhar acted for the Lalbhai family-controlled Arvind. Arvind has entered into an agreement with CK’s American parent, Phillip Van-Heusen Corp (PVH), to distribute its jeans, apparel, accessories and innerwear in India, according to VC Circle.

JSA partner Akshay Chudasama, associates Ashish Deshmukh, Ankit Guha and Anuj Bhasme acted for Premium Garments in which the stakes bought out were earlier held by the Murjani Group and the US-based private equity fund Matrix Partners, reported The Hindu.
