J Sagar Associates (JSA) Bangalore has bagged the mandate for global e-auction giant eBay, which took a $133.7m stake in Indian online marketplace Snapdeal, advised by IndusLaw.

JSA Bangalore partner Vivek K Chandy, who had also led for in Facebook’s first Indian acquisition early this year,  acted for eBay Singapore with senior associate Archana Tewary and associate Siddharth K Vedula.

Bingham McCutchen Boston partner William Perkins and counsel Kristen Ferris acted for eBay on non-Indian law.

Jasper Infotech meanwhile, which owns the popular Snapdeal.com website, was represented by IndusLaw Bangalore partner Srinivas Katta and associates Rashi Saraf and Sherrill Pal.

Certain existing investors of Jasper were represented by KLaw partner Praveen Raju, according to JSA.

The deal is eBay’s second investment in less than 12 months after a $50m investment in April 2013, reported Mint in late February.
