Amarchand Mangaldas’ Delhi office has hired ex-White & Case senior associate Nikhil Narayanan as a corporate partner.
Narayanan is a law graduate of NLSIU Bangalore and completed an MBA at the London School of Business, having also worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse for two years in London.
As a lawyer he had worked at the London offices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and White & Case, according to an Amarchand press release, having around 13 years of experience of advisory practice.
Delhi managing partner Shardul Shroff commented in a statement that Narayanan’s appointment would bolster the firm’s corporate practice.

No random jealous/bitchy/gossipy comments yet... lol I'm impressed people!!
Sir,
How can I get in touch with you please?
I am a big admirer, as you seem to have great experience in the international market. You have not only observed Wall Street lawyers; you have not only observed Wall Street lawyers turning investment bankers; but you have even observed MANY Wall Street lawyers turning investment bankers. Yet you find time to read LI stories and share your wisdom. This is simply too good to be true!
If I could get an opportunity with you, your mentorship would be of great value to me.
Yours faithfully,
Jobless
And are articles not easy enough to read, in a chunky font and relatively few distractions?
Also, the LI frontpage seems quite clean and organised to me, with very little text and large, useful images - which bit is cluttered? Also, what browser are you using - on some it is a little more cluttered than on others.
I would agree, the website though good, at times feels cluttered.
all those boxes look like an ad waiting to explode. feels nice that they dont.
Its like too much info is packed on the first page. my logic is, if its good, people will browse. Why pack so much info on first page.
Would you read a newspaper if all the news was on the first page ? and cotd.... inside ?
Saurabh
To some extent though, I disagree - on the web, as opposed to a newspaper, the frontpage is what sees 90% of traffic. If it's not highlighted on the frontpage, you might as well not publish it, however good it is...
The idea with the LI frontpage is that you can immediately see all the important stories (at the very top of the page), and all the latest stories, as you scroll down, in chronological order, as well as the latest jobs, blogs etc, in their own space.
Clearly it doesn't work for some people though, so will consider what changes we can make depending on feedback.
imgur.com/ or somesuch.
Am surprised it's looking too busy and am wondering whether maybe it's some browser incompatibility. Internet Explorer can act up sometimes, for example, or perhaps Safari is unhappy?
In terms of blogs / newspaper / portal, I believe that a blog layout is actually a much more friendly way of presenting content in a site like LI. With the design we've also aimed to save a lot of reader time- for example, Legally Wired headlines or short news items can be viewed on the homepage, without having to open a new article, for example...
Somewhat off-topic but always happy to hear your feedback so we can improve where possible.
On the top there are links, which is fine. Below that there are 5 ugly boxes, with dark background and white text (pain to read) and which blink on mouse over. Below that there is LI logo which is nice, but next to the logo are at least 9 different boxes in different colors, mail, search, update, Facebook etc etc. If this is not clutter, i don't know what is!
below that there is a big and ugly looking advertisement in a different color. Have u ever thought why google promotes text only ads in Gmail (hint - its non distracting). I am not saying that you don't make money, but please let it a little easy on the eyes.
After all of the above, comes the first news item. Which has a big distracting picture next to it. Honestly, the picture is nothing but a distraction as most of the times it is representative and not actual (e.g. khandavi in case of story about Amarchand). But right next to the story are ads, a big box about MPL and Livemint.
Scroll down for the next story and next to it are lots of jobs.
In nutshell, two stories surrounded by so much of clutter. I am not counting the 5 links on top due to ugly boxes.
This is standard layout. They accessing on a different OS/browser/blackberry and it becomes all the more terrible.
I completely support Mr. "-" above, that you should consider NY Times website as the gold standard.
Have made some tweaks to declutter the homepage a bit. Still not perfect, but let me know if this is better or if you have any other suggestions.
In terms of the ads, obviously websites would be prettier without them, but we do have to eat and the design of the ads is outside of our domain, usually...
On the mobile phone I've found the site is actually much less cluttered on Android and Apple mobiles (not 100% sure on BB, haven't tested that extensively).
Best wishes,
Kian
