J Sagar Associates (JSA) continued its relationship with private equity major Blackstone in the Rs 800 crore ($156m) purchase of DLF Ackruti Infopark in Pune, which drafted in Amarchand Mangaldas.

JSA Mumbai partners Akshay Chudasama, Ashoo Gupta and Jay Gandhi advised Blackstone in the 100 per cent acquisition.

DLF Akruti Infopark was assisted by Amarchand Mangaldas Mumbai partner Harry Chawla, principal associate Niti Paul, and senior associates Medha Shrivastava and Vishwanath Pratap Singh.

JSA partner Akshay Chudasama told Legally India that JSA had been working with Blackstone for the past two to three years, primarily in real estate-related deals.

To facilitate the transaction, assets of DLF Ackruti Infopark were split into two companies and involved the sale of one portion consisting of fully developed SEZ unit.

Including JSA, Blackstone has now used at least six Indian law firms on its transactions, having previously also worked with Trilegal on the $111m Visa Power investment, Khaitan & Co on a number of deals, Amarchand Mangaldas on a $200m real estate company stake, Desai & Diwanji on two $370m power deals and Bharucha & Partners on a $64m freight train investment.
