NLU Jodhpur accomplished its third Mooting Premier League 3 win yesterday after getting past RMLNLU Lucknow in the finals of the Stetson North India qualifying rounds.
With this win NLU Jodhpur is just 6 points away from the current MPL 3 Season Standings topper NLSIU Bangalore.
MPL 3 Quicklinks:
The team from NLU Jodhpur consisted of speakers Lakshmi Neelakantan and Aritra Roy along with researcher Jai Sahai Endlaw.
Neelakantan said that the moot was a good experience and the judging was of a high quality. “Even though the number of teams were less, the competition was intense as most of the colleges sent in their best teams for the moot. The judging during the quarters and the semis was great.”
Neelakantan also appreciated the efforts of the team coach Aman Bhattacharya. “This win wouldn't have been possible without the help of Aman.”
On being asked about NLU Jodhpur's prospects of lifting the MPL trophy this season, Neelakantan was cautiously optimistic. “The next big moot that is coming up is the Jessup qualifiers. We have been doing well this season and we should be well placed in the MPL standings at the end of the season.”
The moot was organized by Surana & Surana International Attorneys in collaboration with NLIU Bhopal. Bishen Jeswant, the Student Convener of NLIU’s Moot Court Association, said that only eleven teams participated in the moot.
“We had a good mix of judges including faculty from UPES Dehradhun, GNLU Gandhinagar and RGNUL Patiala. We also had ex-mooters who have represented the country in the International rounds of Jessup, Stetson and Manfred Lachs. There were some judges who were practicing advocates and also those working in top firms like Amarchand, LKS, etc.”
Jeswant said that Surana & Surana’s efforts were also appreciated. “Mr Ravichandran from Surana was a pleasure to have around. He is extremely efficient and highly organised, thus making it very easy to conduct the moot. He has conducted more that 100 moots and that experience really shows.”
Both NLU Jodhpur and RMLNLU Lucknow will represent the country at the Stetson International rounds at Florida, USA in March.
NLSIU had won the 6 November NLIU - Juris Corp moot, defeating Amity Law School Delhi in the finals.

Keep up the stellar performance.
Credit to Aman is great, but I doubt that a "top litigator" with AMSS represents the apotheosis of achievement for a "beacon", or even a decent law student. The world is an oyster, my friend, broaden your horizons.
was it a joke or a moot?
And could you name the 11 top quality teams that took part in the moot?
@LI- You might want to provide a hyperlink to your terms and conditions with that sentence- "abide by Legally India's full terms and conditions in using the site."
@Kian - note.
Consider this: Palkhivala tax moot which is a tier 4 moot has 44 teams participating and stetson north has only 11 teams.. and we allot more points for stetson north achievememnts as compared to achievements in a top tier 4 moot like palkhivala..
