AZB’s Westbridge ties yield instruction in up to $250m AppLabs-CSC sale

AZB & Partners Delhi and P&A Associates advised on the sale of AppLabs to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) for as much as Rs 1,200 crore ($253m).

AZB Delhi partner Gautam Saha and associate Heena Singhvi advised AppLabs, which provides software testing and quality control services, and AppLabs’ promoters Sashi Parvatha Reddi, Gopala Krishna Parvatha Reddi, Ashwini Parvatha Reddi and Master Adith Reddi.

AZB also acted for the exiting private equity house Westbridge Group that had invested $20m in AppLabs and is expected to hit a multiple of 5x from its exit, according to VCCircle citing market sources, which reported that the deal consideration was between Rs 1,000 and 1,200 crore.

Saha told Legally India that this was the first time the firm had acted for AppLabs, which was introduced to through the Westbridge team with whom the firm had worked before.

P&A partners Anand Pathak and Anil Kumar advised CSC.

VCCircle reported that a number of bidders, including French IT consultancy Capgemini, were also considering buying AppLabs.
