Exclusive: Project finance specialist India Law Services (ILS) has opened office its fourth office in Bangalore with former State Bank of India (SBI) lawyer as its head in a bid to capitalise on market opportunities in southern India.
ILS’ Bangalore office situated at Rajaji Nagar that commenced operations on 1 September 2011 and is headed by Vijay Kumar as partner in charge. The firm has its other three offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
ILS Mumbai-based partner Tushar Desai commented that they decided to set up an office in Bangalore “with a view to expand our footprint in the southern India and reach out to the growing industrial activities in the southern cities”.
“We hope to cover adjoining cities also with this new office,” Desai added.
He also told Legally India that Kumar quit the bank in order to venture into private practice before hitting retirement age, and then joined ILS.
The new office, Desai said, is capable of accommodating sufficient number of advocates for immediate requirements for now having to operate from “relatively modest premises”.
