Clyde & Co senior associate Sidanth Rajagopal has left to become a Delhi-based aviation partner at Clasis Law, the UK firm’s new Indian best friend law firm that split from ALMT Legal in April of this year.
Rajagopal, who had previously been heading Clyde’s Indian aviation practice from London, will relocate to Delhi to head up Clasis’ aviation practice as a partner.
Clasis was formed by ex-ALMT Mumbai partners Ishtiaq Ali and Renu Parekh and of counsel Damodar Rao, with Delhi partner Vineet Aneja and London partners Sakate Khaitan and Shalini Agarwal.
Clasis start-up team also included Clyde Dubai partner Abhimanyu Jalan.
Clasis Law took a new office in Mumbai’s Lower Parel-based One Indiabulls Centre area after starting up.

And for the Clasis partners there is little rationale in tieing up with a firm like Clydes. That said Clasis don't have many mouths to feed in India nor will they for the foreseeable future in this best friendship.
My 2 cents.
On the other hand - Sid - I know you very well and heartiest congratulations on the same. Great Stuff!!!! It the best answer you can get to your critics at previous employers in India. All the best and hope you come out with flying colors.
I do have very good friends working at Clydes, all of whom have Oxbridge education, have trained at MC firms, and are exceptionally great lawyers in their respective fields. Even so that some have been laurelled by London legal press as up and coming. Be assured, that none these people are making partnership at Clydes London anywhere near 6 PQE. Hence query if Classic Law is actually following the Clyde’s way of election into partnership.
also there is no difference in quality between MC and other international city firms. This is unlike in India where certain large law firms may offer better quality than smaller older firms or newer upstarts.
at least Classis now has a partner trained with Clydes and can be trusted not only by CLydes but also by other international firms on quality parameter.
Awesome achievement and well deserved! I don't know how you will manage London and Delhi at the same time, but if anyone can do it, you can!
all thee best. and cut the accent;)
And for your CRITICS there is only one way "WATCHOUT"!!!:)
