Desai & Diwanji has advised Wadia group-owned budget airline GoAir on the company’s acquisition of 72 Airbus 320 NEO Aircraft for $7.2bn.
Desai & Diwanji Mumbai-based partner Vihang Virkar led on the transaction along with senior associate Geeta Saha.
Saha told Legally India that the transaction did not involve any other law firm or legal advisors and the legal work entailed negotiation and execution of the deal and drafting of all transaction related documents including the purchase agreement.
A fleet of 15 aircrafts would be added by GoAir year-on-year until 2020 after first deliveries begin in 2015 leading to an addition of 2,700 seats by the carrier for five years, according to the Times of India.

Every firm has a base draft...but the terms need to be modified/redrafted to suit the transaction as well as to express the real intent of the parties....drafting does not mean drafting from scratch...in todays times, no firm would be able to meet deadlines if they drafted each n every agreement from scratch without using a base draft.
