Amarchand Mumbai made a total of 7 offers without visiting campus that were accepted. All were counted as pre-placement offers (PPOs) according to Nalsar’s recruitment coordination committee (RCC) classifications following the students’ earlier internships with Amarchand.

AZB & Partners visited the campus and made 7 accepted offers to Nalsar fourth-years for its Mumbai and Bangalore offices.

Trilegal hired 2 students on the first day, while Khaitan & Co’s Mumbai office recruited 3 after attending one day later on Saturday (16 April).

It is understood that one student has now also accepted a training contract starting in 2012 with UK magic circle firm Allen & Overy (A&O).

A cross-section of recruiting firms and an RCC member confirmed the offers, which have all been accepted by students. A total of 58 students out of a batch of 73 are participating in the RCC for 2012.

History and perspective

The previous Nalsar batch’s day zero of recruitment was three months later on 25 July 2010, having drawn four firms onto campus for only 21 offers: Amarchand had picked up 12, Khaitan 4, Trilegal 1 and Luthra 2.

That batch due to graduate this year ended up placing a total of 59 with law firms, in-house or with foreign firms, while eight received at least one offer to study LLMs abroad.

Only one week before Nalsar on 6 April 2011, NLSIU Bangalore’s 2012 batch managed to find places for 29 graduates with Luthra having picked up 17, Khaitan 7, Amarchand 6 and Trilegal 4 through a mixture of PPOs and campus interviews.
