Bar exam results postponed to Saturday press conference [Update-2]

The Bar Council of India (BCI) will publish the first All India Bar Exam (AIBE) results tonight or tomorrow (17 March), said BCI chairman Gopal Subramanium.

“We are either announcing tonight or tomorrow on the [BCI] website,” Subramanium told Legally India today (Tuesday, 16 March).

He said that no password would be required to access the results and that the web link intermittently available today and requiring a password was not correct.

Legally India reported last week that the BCI chairman and solicitor general said last week that the results would probably be published by 16 March.

Update 17 March 18:39: Bar exam convenor Gopal Sankaranarayanan reportedly told legal news site Bar & Bench that the results would be declared via a press conference on 19 March between 12 noon and 3pm.

Update 18 March 09:24: In an email just in:

This is to invite all of you to a Press Conference to be held tomorrow (Saturday 19th March 2011) at Press Club at 1 pm. The Chairman BCI, Mr.Gopal Subramaniam and Mr.Nikhil Chandra, President Rainmaker, along with Prof.V.B.Coutinho will be present. The purpose of the Conference is to brief the Press as to the Results of the 1st All India Bar Examination (AIBE), along with details of the same, subject of course, to the last leg to be held at Chennai.
I hope all of you would be able to make it. If there are any colleagues missed out in this mail, please feel free to forward this to them as well.
Warm regards,
