Bar Council of India moot goes international, announces schedule

Mooting Premier League 2010-11 - MPL2

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has finally announced the much-awaited schedule of this year’s edition of its moot court competition, which will be an international moot for the first time.

Having conducted one of the most prestigious national moot court competitions for around 26 years, the BCI has now made its moot an international event. Accordingly, the problem of the moot deals with international arbitration.

Owing to the delay in announcing the schedule of the moot, the BCI issued a circular earlier this week postponing the last date of registration from 31 December 2010 to 31 January 2011 and the last date for submission of memoranda from 20th January to 4th February.

The BCI is collaborating with KIIT Law School, Bhubaneswar to organise the event, which is scheduled to take place from 9 to 12 February 2011. Continuing with its tradition of awarding scholarships to the best student advocates, BCI has announced that a scholarship of Rs. 1,000/- per month for a period of one year will be provided to those students adjudged best in each round of the competition.

The problem and other details pertaining to the moot are available via the BCI website.
