Just Dial, Infomedia 18 claim each stole other’s database; Just Dial calls on cyber crime cell

The legal dispute between online data service providers Just Dial and Infomedia 18 has reached the Bombay High Court with Just Dial seeking the court’s direction to initiate criminal action against Infomedia’s directors.

Just Dial has pleaded that the case be handed over to the cyber crime cell under charges of theft and cheating against Infomedia 18 under the Copyrights Act and Information Technology Act citing difficulty in collating evidence.

Both parties claimed that the other party had stolen their respective directory databases, which both contained identical factual errors and spelling mistakes.

The Cyber Crime Cell had earlier declined to take up the matter saying that civil suits were already being contested by the two companies in the Delhi High Court.
