Young LPO Overlegen opens Texas sales office

Legal process outsourcing (LPO) newcome Overlegen has opened an office in the US, after hiring a new vice president for business development North America in Austin, Texas.

William (Bill) Lennon was previously the CEO and founder of business process outsourcing (BPO) provider GroupBDO.

Overlegen manager of business development Sandeep Agrawal said: "This is a young company which has been founded just eight months ago," adding that Lennon is the company's vice president appointment.

Lennon will focus on selling Overlegen's LPO services to US law firms and corporate legal departments and will initially be based in the Austin office alone.

Agrawal explained that 80 per cent of turnover was currently generated out of the US, with only 20 per cent coming from the UK. He added that Overlegen currently had around six main clients and 20 lawyers in Delhi, focusing on areas such as document review, intellectual property and patents review, due diligence and legal research.

The company's promoter and CEO Vareshvar Mehta is not a lawyer but an MBA graduate who had spent considerable time in the US. "He liked the idea of legal outsourcing," explained Agrawal. "It's at a nascent stage."

Agrawal joined Overlegen in January from Bodhi Global, which is a joint venture between Patni Computers and the co-founding partners of AZB & Partners Zia Mody and Bahram Vakil.
