NLSIU Bangalore will close for 10 days in the wake of the H1N1 influenza virus strain, following 20 deaths in Karnataka and the temporary closure of several other educational institutions in the state.
"The decision was taken as a precautionary measure. The university decided to close for 10 days, so that the entire campus can be fumigated. The fumigation process has already started," NLSIU Vice Chancellor R. Venkata Rao told news wire service IANS.
No National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore students have tested positive for the virus during a recent screening at the local Mallige Hospital.
Rao said: "We don't want to take any chances. When the university reopens, students will be asked to bring their medical certificate. We may further screen the students."
IANS reported that a few mid-term exams due to take place at NLSIU next week have been postponed.
One second-year NLSIU student has welcomed the decision of the authorities and told IANS: "It's a pandemic and the authorities have taken the right decision to keep the university closed for 10 days. The health of the students is important and should be taken care of."
Two Pune law schools, ILS and Symbiosis, were also closed earlier this month as a precaution against the spread of swine flu.

stop being such a wannabe trying to pimp ur clg to glory/attention
this cud cause sum heartburn.. ppl dont wanna kno wht happens at ils
The difference between products of law schools like NLS, NALSAR and NUJS on the one part and others like ILS, Symbi, DU etc. on the other is largely this - a majority of students from the three national law schools are good bordering on the brilliant. A small portion of them are pathetic. However, with colleges like ILS, Symbi and their ilk, a majority of the students are average bordering on the pathetic. Only a small portion of them are good and very few are brilliant. Sam is perhaps one of them.
Once the pretenders start churning out a respectable percentage of above average legal minds, then they will automatically get media attention. Going by Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection, the attention each college or law school is presently getting is the attention it deserves.
Legal Dodo
@LegalDodo, ther reference to the Tirupati temple was misplaced and didn't help the argument. And the invocation of Charles Darwin's theory....... o.O You're a dodo alright. Providing logically extinct arguments.
