The University College of law was established in 1925. The College got tremendous response from the then capital city of earstwhile C.P.& Bearar Province. In the first decade the college has achieved many significant achievements . Sir. Vivian Bose was the first principal of the college. The classes of the college were conducted in the premises of 'Convocation Hall' of the University. Sir. Vivian Bose was later elevated as the Judge of High Court Nagpur. The Nagpur High Court was eastablished in 1936. Sir.Vivian Bose was subsequently elevated to the Supreme Court. In 1940 the college was shifted in the present premises and since then it is growing in the same premises. Initally there were part time teachers who were appointed by Nagpur University . Subsequently the full time teachers were appointed .Presently the college has the full time Principal, full time teachers and many visting faculty members to cater the needs of the students.

The Principal of the college Dr. J.L. Aparajit is a highly profecient personality who has shaped the college towads its upgradation and face lift in academic, cultural, and sports wings of the college . Dr. Aparajit is a P.hd supervisor and those who want to persue their P.Hd course can register under him and can get the P.Hd. Every student who joins the college can develop his personality in all the spheres of life along with the legal education.A student can participate in Sports, Moot Court activity, cultural and social activity and all other activities which are conducted in the University, Inter-University ,Colleges and Inter Colleges . It is an endevour of the college to provide the best for the students so that they, must develop an all round personality of their own.>
