The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) was established by the State of Kerala in Kochi by Act 27 of 2005, merging erstwhile National Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) into the Cochin University of Science & Technology as a full university.<ref>http://www.nuals.ac.in/aboutus.aspx</ref>
Background
History
TBC: This college was founded in 2002 by the Bar Council of Kerala as the National Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. It was affiliated to the Cochin University at that point of time. However in 2005, the College was absorbed into the newly created State University called the National University of Advanced Legal Studies or NUALS
Location
TBC: The current location of the campus which is on lease is at Kaloor in Ernakulam (Kochi). However the new campus is under construction and is expected to open its gates open for the students soon at Kalamassery which is around 10 kms from where it is situated now.
Administration
TBC: The Chancellor of the college is the CHief Justice of the Kerala High Court and the Vice-Chancellor is Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Jayakumar a very reputed jourist and author of many books on law. The Registrar Mr. Narayana Swamy, Prof. (Dr.) M.C. Valson, Dr. Balakrishnan K., Mr. Hari S Nayar, Dr. Anil R Nair etc are the prominent faculty of the College.

Facts & Figures
TBC: There are around 350 students studying in the campus. From 2011, the intake for BA LLB (Hons) course is 80 students. 12 seats are available for LLM. As regular faculty there is one Professor, one Associate Professor and nine Assistant Professors. The rest of the faculty consist of guests from the bar and the bench.
