It is our pleasure to invite you to an event hosted by Mozilla and SFLC.in on November 18, 2016 from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at The Lalit, New Delhi, where we will explore the challenges and solutions of bringing all people online through a panel discussion. We have gathered leaders in policy, law and venture capital to participate in this conversation.

As part of the presentation, we will also highlight Mozilla’s recently launched Equal Rating Innovation Challenge, which we hope will catalyze new thinking in this area.

Speakers

Mahesh Murty is a well-known investor and marketer, having co-founded the VC firm Seedfund and the brand consulting firm Pinstorm. His investments include RedBus, CarWale, Doolally, CL Educate, Chumbak, MyDentist and Voonik. Mahesh has over 500,000 followers across social media and is among the most followed Indians on LinkedIn and Quora. Mahesh was also part of the Save The Internet effort that successfully battled Zero Rating and the Facebook Free Basics initiative. You can follow Mahesh on Twitter @MaheshMurthy.

Jochai Ben-Avie is the Senior Global Policy Manager at Mozilla where he works on a range of global issues as diverse as the Internet. He is the global lead for Mozilla’s work on Equal Rating, and also serves as the policy advisor to the Mozilla Foundation. Before Mozilla, he was the Policy Director at Access Now (AccessNow.org) an international organization that defends and extends the digital rights of users at risk around the world.

Mishi Choudhary is the legal Director of the Software Freedom Law Center, New York and the Executive Director of the New Delhi based SFLC.in. At SFLC, NY Mishi is the primary legal representative of many of the world’s most significant free software developers and non-profit distributors, including Debian, the Apache Software Foundation, and OpenSSL. She regularly consults with major technology companies on FOSS licenses such as the GNU GPL. As of 2015, Mishi is the only lawyer in the world simultaneously to appear on briefs in the US and Indian Supreme Courts in the same Term. She consults with and advises established businesses and startups using free software in their products and service offerings in the US, Europe, India, China and Korea. In 2015 she was named one of the Asia Society’s 21 young leaders building Asia’s future.
