The Bar Council of India (BCI) on Sunday re-elected the Bihar state bar council representative Manan Kumar Mishra back into chairmanship of the BCI, afterRajasthan member Biri Singh Sinsinwar occupied the post from April having succeeded Mishra, reported the Deccan Chronicle.
Madras high court senior advocate and BCI member Madras S Prabakaran was appointed as co-chairman, and Karnataka member Bhoje Gowda SL was appointed vice-chairman. They were elected unanimously by the BCI members at a meeting held on Sunday in Kochi, attended by the council’s managing trustee Vijay Bhatt and associate managing trustee Rajinder Singh Rana.
Their terms will run until April 2016. BCI secretary Jogi Ram Sharma confirmed their election to Legally India. Mishra could not be reached for comment by phone.
The executive committee will be chaired by TS Ajith from Kerala, with Nilesh Kumar from Jharkhand as vice-chairman of the executive committee, according to the Deccan Chronicle.
Mishra had retired as chairman in April 2014 after two years in the job but continued as a BCI member.
