3 NLSIU graduates opt for the bench in Karnataka

Three graduates from NLSIU Bangalore - K S Bharath Kumar (2001 batch), Nerale Veerabhadraiah Vijay (2001) and Nerale Veerabhadraiah Bhavani (1999) - will become Karnataka district judges, alongside advocates Vijayakumar Malasiddappa Anandashetti and Ravi M R, reported Bar & Bench.

They will be sworn in on 8 June.

why you only focus on national law school achievements? There are numerous meritorious law graduates from other law schools who have achieved a lot, both at bar and bench...highlight their achievements also...

Agree, we do try though NLS, as the first national law school is somewhat significant, particularly when it makes inroads into new areas such as litigation or the bench...

And this is only a small 2-paragraph highlight, which shouldn't hurt anyone and will be interesting to some NLS grads :)

Kudos on this story. Maybe you can also look at CNLU - the most maligned of Tier-III law schools in India. Around 14 from its first batch cleared judiciary as well.

Tough job this lower judiciary. One needs a lot of patience, cool head and ability to not get frustrated. A good dose of keeping boss happy is also needed. Good for the litigants who come before these guys but it will be a very hard life because lower judiciary slaves while upper judiciary holidays. Presiding over determination of facts and cross examinations is anything but fun. No interesting constitutional law questions here to munch on. Personally I see these guys quitting after a few years but who knows, maybe they will stick on.
