Is this the best movie ever made about the Indian legal system? [SPONSORED]

Produced by Vivek Gomber's Zoo Entertainment, COURT is an independent, multilingual film, written and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane. Hailed as a devastating tragicomedy, COURT examines the Indian legal system through the trial of an ageing folk singer in a lower court in Mumbai. A realistic drama with satirical undertones, the film also explores the personal lives of the players involved in the case, beyond the courtroom.

COURT premiered at the 71st Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Best Film in the Horizons category and the Lion Of The Future award for Best Debut Film. Since then, it has gone on to win 18 international awards, including honours at Mumbai, Vienna, Antalya, and Singapore. Last month, COURT was also awarded with the Swarna Kamal, the National Award for Best Feature Film.

Amongst those who have watched the preview of COURT, which includes the Chief Justice, Bombay High Court, Justice S. Muralidhar, Justice Gautam Patel, Flavia Agnes, Veena Gowda, Binayak Sen and many more, the appreciation and enthusiasm has been palpable. Everyone seems to be talking about it, and the reviews published have been glowing.

"My Lords, this is a brilliant, authentic critique of Indian judiciary," HT

"The brilliant debut of 27-year old Chaitanya Tamhane.. catch it wherever you can." Anupama Chopra

"When Chaitanya Tamhane's Court was screened at last year's Mumbai Film Festival, there was a stampede to enter the auditorium."  Firstpost
