The 2016 Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be conducted by RGNUL Patiala on 8 May 2016 from 3pm to 5pm, according to a notification on the law school’s website (see above).
Online applications for the competitive exam will start on 1 January 2016, while the deadline for submissions is 31 March 2016 at 11:59pm.
The non-refundable fee for general candidates is Rs 4,000, while scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates need to pay Rs 3,500.
Last year’s CLAT was dogged by a string of obvious errors in questions, that were never recognised, an astounding lack of transparency and a series of writ petitions.
Eventually, the debacle kicked off a monster writ petition seeking wholesale reform of the CLAT system.
