First, apologies dear especially loved readers for the 3-day delay of last week's newsletter: a seasonal cold had come around and felled me (but fortunately, since these days are rather busy, I'm now fully back on my feet again).
Second, without further ado, in this issue, still up to date and hot:
- A big-shot GC who has quietly returned to his old home (BSE announcement presumably pending).
- A brief rumination and 6 reasons of why so many senior law firm partners have recently been exiting the partnership life and 'taking the black' as arguing counsel instead.
- Find out when Somasekhar Sundaresan is leaving JSA...
- A sneak preview of some very, very interesting law firm research that'll be published in Mint soon... The above picture is a mysterious excerpt from our sneak preview of a very, very scary graph.
- If you want to hazard a guess for what this graph is of, please share in comments below and I’ll let you know if you’re right…
Our full newsletter goes out to paying subscribers only. The good news is that it’s very affordable and comes with a whole range of perks, other than supporting independent legal journalism.
By reading the comments you agree that they are the (often anonymous) personal views and opinions of readers, which may be biased and unreliable, and for which Legally India therefore has no liability. If you believe a comment is inappropriate, please click 'Report to LI' below the comment and we will review it as soon as practicable.

Also, the guessing competition is supposed to be about what the excerpt of the scary graph is of :)
After the next guess I'll give the first hint...
Another hint, the firm in the graph is JSA...
One final hint: you have to think laterally... :)
It's a graph of partners hired at JSA vs partner-level lawyers leaving...
Have mapped the Big 7 firms in Mint, and will hopefully also publish graphs and complete data on this tomorrow on LI for all firms with highest partner turnovers.
PS: For guessing correctly, can I offer you a prize of 1 month of a Legally India senior subscription? You'll get the full newsletter and an ad-free LI. If so, please respond to this comment from the same device or computer you left the comment on with your email address (or an anonymous email address if you like) and I'll sign you up (your comment won't be published, so no one else will see your email ID).
You are doing an excellent job. Keep it up.
My email: [...] (I know you'll keep this a secret)
By the way, the Mint article is out with the full graphics: www.livemint.com/Companies/WjvaqPbQBLKl9lYYFoV74K/Top-talent-play-musical-chairs-at-law-firms.html
We'll be posting more data on LI later today too...
