Prasad gets law ministry back after 2 years, but let's face it, no one ever keeps the law portfolio for long...

Communications and Information Technology minister and lawyer Ravi Shankar Prasad has been made the law minister again in today's cabinet reshuffle, replacing DV Sadananda Gowda, reported DNA and others.

Gowda had only won the law ministry in November 2014 from Prasad.

Prasad holds an LLB from Patna University and has been practising at the high court there since 1980, where he was designated a senior in 1999, followed by getting the senior gown at the Supreme Court in 2000.

Not that any recent law ministry has done a lot for the courts or legal profession, but Gowda had been involved in liberalisation talks, which have reached a dramatic new point, with negotiations now between ministries, Bar Council of India (BCI) and stake holders.

Gowda has been moved to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
