NLSIU Bangalore replaced NLU Delhi at second spot of the Herbert Smith Freehills sponsored Mooting Premier League table for Season 5 yesterday, after besting Delhi to win the tier 4 KK Luthra Memorial criminal law moot.
NLSIU researcher Parul Mehra and speakers Trisha Chandran and Aditya Sanjay Mehta clinched the victory for the law school. Mehra said: “Something that we did right was that we worked very hard on our structure, more than trying to find nitty gritties like case law and all of that. When judges asked questions other teams would say: ‘My co-counsel would be dealing with this [issue]’. We were able to cover it without trying to move around with our structure too much.”
Mehra said she was particularly impressed with the “spontaneity, courtesy and deference” of the team from George Washington University Law School USA in their manner of arguing. “A lot of deference comes only with practice. When judges are throwing so many questions at you, you tend to forget [being deferential],” she added.
Ritwik Shrivastava from Amity Delhi was the best speaker, while NLIU Bhopal held fort at the top of the league table coming up as semi-finalists at the moot.
55 teams participated in the ace criminal law moot which celebrated its tenth edition this time.
Upcoming moots: February 6-9, 2014: GNLU International Moot Court Competition, Kerala Law Academy Moot, Amity Law School II Noida’s International Criminal Law Moot Court Competition, Surana & Surana Corporate Law Moot and D. M. Harish International Moot Court Competition, 2014.

Thank you for pointing out. We have now corrected the rankings column.
Best wishes,
Prachi
That is not possible because in 2004, recruiters had only NLS so recruitment would have been good because there was no alternative. Today, the newer law schools have each other as competition so the recruitment figure will not be accurate reflection of their worth.
I am so happy for you guys in there!
sorry to burst your bubble but Bhopal is headed towards obscurity an fast. Already Jodhpur and NLU delhi have emerged as preferred law schools and the day is not far when GNLU and perhaps even HNLU may be at par or overtake Bhopal. It is already well behind NUJS as a choice of destination despite being 1-2 years senior.
The physical remoteness, the heavy state quota, the near absence of faculty and the dismal show put up by graduates has guaranteed that this is a place to avoid by students, faculty and employers alike.
