Delhi HC issues notice to government on neglect of Mahatma Gandhi memorial stone [Read Petition]

The Delhi high court sought a reply from the union government and the Rajghat Samadhi Committee on a citizen’s public interest litigation challenging the deficient upkeep of Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial in Delhi, reported the [http://www.ptinews.com/news/6979261_HC-seeks-Centre-reply-on-maintenance-of-Gandhi-samadhi.html *PTI*].

Pamasis Law Chambers partner Sameer Jain and Delhi advocate Abhinav Shrivastava were acting for Shyam Narayan Chouksey who claimed that the Samadhi of the father of the nation was not being properly maintained and kept clean.

He alleged that he had already complained about this deficiency to the Samadhi committee and to the urban development ministry, but there was no change in the situation.

He has prayed to the court that the committee clean, repair and maintain the memorial stone not just at the moment, but also develop a mechanism for future maintenance.
