Dharma law chambers, Upadhayay and Upadhyaya, Lex Chambers, JIMA and associates and dozens of such firms pay around 10-15k per month.

Are these really law firm placements?

I did my calculations: there are 15 decent law firm placements.

Please don't mislead law aspirants with comments like: ton of desk jobs.

Look at the quantity of placements: 65 out 0f 136- 48% placements.

Look at the quality: More than 75% of students have been placed in low grade, low paying (maximum 15,000 per month) law firms!

Are these really law firms? Or are these individual lawyers who run law practices?

I have never heard of such firms!! I'll request LI to publish salaries these so called law firms pay. Do they pay at all? Do they exist at all?

How can term these as placements??? PATHETIC.... AMITY IS JUST ABOUT MONEY.... NO PLCEMENTS

Now almost all the decent law colleges including the NLUs and some private law colleges has declare their recruitment figure for 2011 batch...The reports on LI shows that the almost the top five NLUs has scored good placement for their respective batches...and some other NLUs has perform exceptionally well for e.g. GNLU, Christ Law College etc.....But the latest three NLUs RMLNLU, CNLU and RGNUL has not perform so well....out of these three RMLNLU has tried their best and come out with some number far better than RGNUL and CNLU......CNLU truth is known to all....BUT RGNUL is generally consider as a silent school...for all these news....because the school has nothing to say abt their Placement.....as per the sources in RGNUL..........The placement figure of 2011 batch can bu summarized in following points:

The batch is consist of around 68 students, out of them one student is going for LLM in Oxford university,some other students also got clearance for foreign studies nut none of them confirm it yet.........few students got PPOs from second or third tier law frims e.g. dua associates, K R Chawala etc... and their was no campus placement in college till yet....the reason for all this not the students but the unexperienced adminsistration and the former VC Gurjeet singh..who denied to start the campus placement in college and clearly said that he will not talk to any firm or any other recruiter....the reason was unknown...students made all efforts to change his mind but they failed....the other reason was the politics in campus within batches ....students and faculty....the college administration has no interest in placement....students are thankful to the P& H High court to removing the Gurjeet Singh from the university....but till that time has passed....and 11 batch pass out without any result....currently the campus placement is going on at local level...with local firms in punjab.....its a matter of shame for the RGNUL administration....i have sincere concern for the students....we have seen the performance of the college in moots, debates, publications and other activities...students are far better than than other college....i hope the upcoming batch did not face the same problem....

contacting rgnul's faculty-in-charge would fetch no response. because the placements were zilch.

These Amity Kids...I tell you. But, overall whether its Amity, Symbi or the New NLUs we all are facing the same issue. Market has Jobs for the "selected few". There is such a gross variation in firm salaries as we have seen. And then so much deal about next generation legal reforms. When all the markets are being open (dude even retail now :P), we need an open legal market...NOW. Lets come together and DO IT NOW...

RGNUL has got Prof. Jaswal as their V-C from HNLU Raipur, he promised alot to HNLU , and commiteed himself to HNLU by promising world class placements, now i guess he need to do that for his beloved RGNUL for which he left HNLU.

its unfortunate, the ppl who r posting there r the ones who never dare to take a stand in University. They act as silent spectators in college n later take out their anger and frustration in Public Forum. If u think that concerned authorities are reading that then u r wrong, u r just degrading the image of college..

its a matter of great concern that people who have no idea about rgnul or consider themselves to be self proclaimed great legal luminaries are making such nonsensical comments here..i being a pass out from the first batch has seen the university progress along with my fellow batch mates. a new university without any doubt has certain start up problems and thats true for any university that is at its infant stage..and there is no denying this fact.but the way rgnul has progressed with our informative library, ppl doing great in moots, debates conferences, sports, extra curricular etc.is appreciable.and i put it very straight here..be it any law school in the county its the students who make it..u need to ask urself what have u contributed to the university or leave alone the university what have u contributed to ur own betterment. our previous vc or the present one both played their fair part and thats the reason we the students of rgnul are proud to be here, where we are..its a matter of shame that certain ppl are persistent in bringing down the name of their own college. and yeah a student getting into oxofrd from the very first batch in no small a deal...u need to then analyse that what level of academic standards rgnul sets for its students.so i request ppl not to degrade their own college in such public forums.

I am pretty sure none of the students, who have claimed himself/herself to be from RGNUL has got anything to do with the institution. @legal merchant must have a penchant for uttering non sense in a public forum, without due information. it was the FIRST batch of the institute guys..first batch. and in the first batch a student got through oxford. people have managed PPOs from firms, which even if not extravagant, are at least decent. i am pretty sure that from the next year onwards, we'll hit tier 1s

what a shame that getting placed in 'desk-jobs' is a matter of pride; its like doctors taking pride for getting placed in clinics!

RGNUL s a growing institution and one needs to understand that and this comment to all the above moot spectators who believe that defaming the university on a public forum would fetch them a job!!!!!!! If u were efficient enough u would ve gt dat but let me tel u r loosers to do this act of misappropriation of defaming the university. Paris was not built in a day. Try to be optimistic in life..take my suggestion else success will never reach u looser!!!!!!!!

Being a fresher will any1 tell me are the placements of amity good or not for law students .. because after reading the above comments i am really not able to make up my mind whether i should take admissiom in amity law school or not for 5 years course..

Dont be misled by this article. A majority of the placements mentioned here are not campus placements. None of the tier 1, 2 or 3 law firms recruited any students directly from college and they're all pre placement offers. The only real campus placements in the list are the LPOs.
