Amity Law School Delhi grads score 44 law firm jobs, 15 LPO

Amity: Ton of desk jobs
Amity: Ton of desk jobs
Exclusive: Sixty-five Amity Law School Delhi graduates have secured ‘desk job’ offers out of a batch of 136 students, with 11 additional law firm jobs still to be confirmed after interviews.

In total there were 15 confirmed offers from LPOs, 44 from law firms and three each from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and corporate houses.

Among the law firms Khaitan Jayakar Sud & Vohra and Phoenix Legal were the largest recruiters respectively hiring four and three students.

Legal process outsourcing company EXL Services was the largest recruiter overall hiring five students, followed by Pangea3 with four, and Clifford Chance’s offshore legal services centre OSC Global Services and CPA Global picking up three each.

A small number of offers from legal process outsourcing (LPO) companies and law firms were rejected by students and are not included in those totals, explained the director of Amity Law School, professor MK Balachandran. Final results could only be confirmed after the end of the semester in July.

Over 50 organisations interviewed or offered jobs to Amity students and almost all participating organisations hired at least one student.

Balachandran told Legally India that outside of the 77 who were recruited or awaiting confirmation to join corporate, LPO or law firm jobs, 22 other students have opted for litigation and would join the chambers of various advocates.

Four other students were working under judges of the various high courts or the Supreme Court.

Balachandran added that 30 other students have opted to continue their higher studies in various Indian and foreign universities.

The details of the universities where the students are likely to pursue their higher studies was not available at the time of going to press.
