The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2015 candidate Shubham Dutt, whose petition in the Bombay high court had resulted in the formation of a new expert committee to examine alleged errors in CLAT 2015, again approached the high court for new directions. The high court, however, dismissed his plea today.
The court also said that Dutt was free to file a fresh petition.
On Dutt’s plea the high court had in June stayed CLAT 2015 allotment lists, and then reversed the stay but ordered CLAT 2015 convenor RMLNLU Lucknow to form an expert committee and revise the merit list if the committee reports that there were errors.
Three high courts had given similar orders as Bombay, in CLAT writs filed before them, but none of the orders eventually affected the outcome of the selection process this year which was closed even before the timeline given in the Bombay high court order could lapse.
