Udwadia Udeshi & Argus (UUA) Partners, the firm created by the 2012-merger of Kolkata start-up Argus Law Partners and Bombay solicitors firm Udwadia & Udeshi, has lost two litigation partners, Amol Bavare and Mihir Kamdar, who will start their own practice according to a report on Bar & Bench.
The leaving of partner Bavare and associate partner Kamdar, follows the Dilip Udeshi leaving the firm in July, which UUA managing partner Krishnava Dutt denied when asked about by Legally India in May of this year.
Bar & Bench reported that Udeshi would continue his own practice.
Update: Dutt has confirmed the departures to Legally India and that the firm would continue under the Udwadia Udeshi & Argus name.
Argus co-founder Ramya Hariharan left the firm in September.
Udwadia & Udeshi (founded in 1997 by Udeshi and Darius Udwadia), and Argus Partners (formed in 2009 by a breakaway team from Amarchand Mangaldas’ Kolkata office that soon expanded to Mumbai) had merged in 2012 to create a 12-partner, 60-lawyer firm.
