DH Law added intellectual property (IP) lawyer Hasit Seth to set up an IP and Technology vertical for the firm, as a partner in Mumbai.

Seth, who joined DH without his team from the IP firm he set up in 2013 – GHBS advisors – graduated from GLC Mumbai in 1998 and obtained an LLM in IP Law from the Franklin Pierce Law Centre in 2001.

He had stints as an IP lawyer with two US law firms, and then in various roles with several IP consultancies and companies including EATON India, Accelerator India and the National Chemical Laboratory among others.

He is also the sole inventor of US Patents No US9160681 and US8949654, according to DH Law’s press release.

Seth commented in the release: “India stands on the door of a technology revolution. Exciting business deals are happening around in technology-business space. India is showing a strong movement from a consumer of technology to a #MakeInIndia creator of technology leading to an #InventInIndia in future.”

The firm said that it now has nine partners, including Seth.

DH had grown to 10 partners in January 2015 when it merged with V Law, but partners Saket Tiwary in the Patna office and Shikhar Srivastava in the Delhi office left the firm since then.

The Mumbai office was relocated to a bigger space in the city in 2012.
