Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has hired former Amarchand Mangaldas Delhi principal associate Mekhla Anand as an indirect tax salaried partner in its new Delhi office.
Anand had left Amarchand Delhi shortly before the break up of the Delhi and Mumbai regions of the firm but after a break travelling is now due to join the Mumbai-region, which de-merged to become Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
Anand had joined PwC India after graduating from NLSIU Bangalore in 2003, moving to Amarchand Delhi in 2011.
Cyril Amarchand managing partner Cyril Shroff commented that she would be an “excellent addition to our tax practice”.
We have reached out to Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas for comment.
Update: Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas declined to comment.
Cyril Amarchand has hired at least three former Amarchand Delhi lawyers since the break-up – principal associate Bishwajit Dubey, former intellectual property (IP) partner Ranjan Negi and principal associate in IP Aarti Joshi.

If my information is correct, 42 standard book units
Sounds like the PAs moving are the ones who were left out from the recent round of partner promotions.
So what would SAM be losing?
So what would CAM be loosing?
PS: Everybody knows why the IP Partner and his team left.
And Alia, technically, the term 'universe' (mine or otherwise), i.e., 'all existing matter and space considered as a whole', is broad enough to cover, well, everybody!
However, I do admit that apart from the concerned partner and the SAM, nobody else knows 'exactly' what happened. But most people have a fair idea of what happened... or may be they don't. One will never know.
