Ex-Amarchand private client director, start-up founder Mugdha Sahal joins wealth manager

Sahal moves to wealth manager
Sahal moves to wealth manager

Former Amarchand Mangaldas private client practice (PCP) director Mugdha Sahal, who had started her own practice Metasis Legal two years ago, has joined Sanctum Wealth Management as head of wealth planning in Mumbai, according to a press release.

Correction: An earlier version of this story erroneously stated that Sahal had joined straight from Cyril Amarchand. However, we now understand that she had left Amarchand Mumbai two years ago, before Cyril Amarchand had been created.

According to the release, she would “devote considerable amount of time in further developing and enriching the existing wealth planning proposition at Sanctum Wealth, while continuing to oversee her external legal practice”.

Sahal had joined what-was-then Amarchand Mangaldas in 2013 from IIFL Wealth Management, where she was also a director. Before that she had worked with IL&FS Trust Company and Standard Chartered Asset Management Company.

She is a 2002 graduate from Jai Narain Vyas University Jodhpur and was admitted as an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India in 2001.

Sahal said in the press release: “It is a privilege to be appointed head of wealth planning at Sanctum Wealth, a company that prides itself in upholding the highest standards of conduct and service. The team at Sanctum is highly experienced, talented and encouraging, and I am keen to walk the journey with them as I take on my new role.”

Cyril Amarchand's current private client practice (PCP) is chaired by managing partner Cyril Shroff, and in 2015 was co-headed by partner Rishabh Shroff in Delhi, and Radhika Gaggar in Mumbai.
