Kian: It will be interesting to see an analysis on partners biglaw firms have lost or gained in last one year.
Because that what he is all about
Really? Did Shreyas' "connections" write the NLS entrance exam for him and help him complete his course?
Let's give credit where it's due. Well done, Shreyas.
The truth is that, in both corporate and litigation, it always helps if you have connections which provides a starting platform. But that will only give you some initial headstart -- but after that its only merit. In corporate, Zia and Cyri/Shardul, had good conections which surely must have helped them initially. But what they are today is also becasue they had some mettle in them. Likewise, in litigation, Salve, Rohatgi, Rohinton -- all had godfathers, but do you think they are today only because of those connections? Connections can only get you to a certain distance, but not beyond that.
